Washever?!

As per PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Service Administration), there are two typhoons in the Philippine Area of Responsibility since yesterday, Typhoon Igme and Typhoon Julian.  It was sunny the whole week but I am still crossing my fingers for the weekend even though it is said in the news that we will expect a rainy weekend. I am still hopeful that the typhoons won’t affect much of the Northwest Luzon as I am looking forward to do the laundry this weekend since I don’t get to face it during weekdays. When it rains on weekends we automatically send the clothes to the laundry shop coz we only have spin drier at home.

Laundry shop, it is a place where they accept laundry job. They promise to take care of the washing of your used, dirty clothes. But does it always guarantee us clean clothes? Are we getting enough service from what we are paying?

Sadly, I am not pleased with the service that I get from the laundry shop that I have. I am not going to mention the name of the shop anymore coz my purpose is not to bash them or to put their business reputation in a bad light. Unfortunately, despite that we are living in a highly-urbanized city, there are only two laundry shops that can be found here. Well I am not counting those that accept laundry job in their homes and manually hand washes the clothes.

First thing I dislike in the laundry shop that services us is the poor inventory and unorganized system. They have lost a lot of our clothes. From tops, to bottoms, to blankets even underwears, imagine that? I tried speaking with the owner regarding this matter, but she would just give me this damn statement, “We don’t know. We didn’t found it in the shop”. So it is like, just my problem now, or like indirectly telling me that I must have been the one who misplaced it. She didn’t even bother to apologize.

Second thing I am really pissed off is their slow service; it always take 3 to 4 days before they deliver back our washed clothes. No matter how hard I think of it I couldn’t figure out how an approximately 5 to 6 kilograms of clothes took 3 or 4 days to be washed. Luckily, nobody goes to school or work with a uniform in our family.

Another is their inconsistency. The way they fold clothes is a total mess. I don’t understand how they came up with a laundry business without acquiring the basic folding skill. Another thing is that they always fold my husband’s barong and slacks, when they are supposed to know that those must be put in a hanger.

I am also disappointed that even if I have raised my concerns several times, it just keeps on happening again and again and I am left with no choice but to just deal with them. So every weekend I truly pray hard for good weather to be able to do the laundry at home.  I am no longer entertaining the thought of capitalizing the issue with the owner, obviously she is not after the service that they provide but just up for the money that they get, too bad.
