Weapon Against Dengue

Rain has not come to stop these past few weeks, it is rainy season indeed. As we all know, rainy season is dengue season as well.  It is best to gear up yourself and your family with the best mosquito-fighting weapons you can have to be safe from Dengue.
As a mother, I am heedful all year round in protecting my family against Dengue and other disease-carrying mosquitoes. As the saying goes “Prevention is better than cure”. I am about to share to you the weapons I use to keep my family safe.

Our house has screened windows and screened doors but since I am vigilant in keeping my family protected, I use Baygon Anti-Dengue Electric Mat Insect Killer.  I just simply plug it in an electric source and voila it keeps mosquitoes away in no time, each Mat can last for up to 8 hours, I find it really effective and economical. It is like using mosquito coil without the stinking odor and the annoying smoke. When you purchase an Electric Mat Plug, it comes with 5 Mats yet. You can later on buy Baygon Mat Refill which comes in 10 and 30 pieces per box.

Another weapon I use is Guard Insect Repellent Lotion. Guard uses breakthrough ingredient Picaridin. It is guaranteed safe even on sensitive skin but is effective not only in mosquitoes but also against flies, ticks and fleas. It is Deet-free, so it is gentle for the skin of your little ones. It is non-sticky and non-greasy leaving your skin feeling lighter and fresher plus it comes in clean, powder-fresh scent. Its efficacy can last from 4 up to 6 hours from application. It comes in different sizes at a very reasonable price.

My last weapon is the wearing of clothes with the shade of Yellow and/or Green as much as we can. I once read in Yahoo that dengue-carrying mosquitoes dislike such colors. Relative to this, I also bought green bulbs for our mini light at bedtime, to keep the entire room in the shade of green giving us added safeguard, not to mention the calm ambience it gives. I haven’t research much about its efficacy though, but I see no harm in doing so.

I hope that this blog helped you gain ideas on how you can protect yourself and your family too. Remember you cannot discern disease-carrying mosquito from a non disease-carrying mosquito so better be safe than sorry.
